Brazil .... House of Samba

Choosing the next country to talk about is not easy! each country has its own flavors; but today I'm gonna talk about this country that i read and watched much about it in the last couple of weeks and is definitely worth talking about.... BRAZIL
Many travelers think Brazil is boring place and has no historical and beautiful places to visit ... hello! no, you are totally wrong; Brazil has some of the most amazing places to visit on earth; you can get the best of both worlds there! you find the beauty of nature and the large cities and building.

What first attracted me to Brazil is its mixed culture, there you can find Italians, Japanese, Arabs, Spanish, people from all over the world live there, with different religions and beliefs, which is very nice.

An important part of the Brazilian culture and life is carnivals, actually Brazil is well-known because of its carnivals, which are a big celebrations on the rhythm of samba dancing and music; it involves a public celebration or parade combining some elements of a circus, masque and public street party. People often dress up or masquerade during the celebrations, which mark an overturning of daily life. Carnivals take place in February immediately before Lint, so if you gonna visit Brazil, it's better be in this time of year so you won't miss it!
The last thing I wanna say about the culture is that Brazil is a country of parties, parties everyday every night ... much fun

Here is some pics of a carnival:

And here is a video ... I bet you will love it :)

So where should I go in Brazil? Mostly when you travel to Brazil you will land in "Sao Paulo", the largest city in Brazil with high buildings, museums, restaurants, clubs, a perfect place for night life.
The second largest city is "Rio de Janeiro" which has the largest football stadiums in the world, wonderful beaches, and i would ofcourse recommend going to Corcovado mountain which has "Christ the Redeemer", an amazing statue for Jesus and so called one of the "New Seven Wonders of the World"
here is some pics of the two cities:

If you are a nature lover, then you must go "Fernando de Noronha", which is a collection of 21 wonderful islands, those islands have amazing animals and marine life; there u can see sea tortoises, dolphins, albatrosses and many other species are frequently observed. There is also the amazon river and rain forests.
The last, but most place I loved there is "Cataratas do IguaƧu" which is very beautiful falls! I won't say more, just look at the pics :)

And now my favorite part ... Food :D
There is two Brazilian dishes got my attention; Faijoada which is made of black turtle beans, with a variety of salted pork and beef products such as salted pork trimmings (ears, tail, feet), bacon, smoked pork ribs, at least two types of smoked sausage and jerked beef .... the taste is strong and salty. here is a pic:

The other dish is Moqueca de Camarao which is made of fish, coconut milk, shrimp and some vegetables .... I'm gonna ask my mom try to make it :D

Finally, I wanna say thanx to my Brazilian friend Carol who helped me much in writing this post! thank uuuu

Jerusalem .... My first love

Hello friends,

today I'm gonna talk about one of the most amazing cities ever; it's full of history, full of beauty and love .... it's Jerusalem.
Jerusalem is the capital of my country, Palestine. It's very old city ( I'm not gonna give a history lesson, because you can get that anywhere else!, it's importance comes from being a "home" for religions; in Jerusalem you can find mosques, churches and historical places for both Muslims and Christians and, and has spiritual importance for Jews.
To be honest, I've been to Jerusalem only one, but it was unforgettable visit! I went to Dome of the Rock, Al-Aqsa Mosque, Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the old city; it was amazing, and I barely could walk in the streets ( it was Friday, the day for an important Muslim prayer! ).
Here is some pics for Jerusalem, I'm sure you'll love 'em:

I wanna talk a little about the Palestinian culture;
The majority of Palestinian people are Muslims, our culture strongly follows the Islamic religion. I'm not gonna talk about Islam now, but I'll mention some aspects that make our culture different and special ( If you wanna know little more about Islam, please leave me a comment and I'll be happy to make a post about how special and different is Islam ) :

Palestinians are famous in their traditional folklore dress, which is beautifully hand-made. This dress is not widely used now, but it's still very popular in special occasions and ofcourse it's the dress for ladies who lived the old days. Here is some pictures of the Palestinian dress:

The palestinian folklore include stories, music, dancing, sayings, traditions, beliefs and jokes!
here is a video for a folklore dance .... interesting

and  I should tell you, if you ever come to Palestine, and you are out of money, that's not a problem at all! you'll find biggggg hospitality here; you don't have to pay to eat because you'll find everybody inviting you for lunch or dinner .... If you don't have enough money to sleep in a hotel, believe me, everybody will invite you to spend the night in their houses.
You don't have to worry about language and this stuff; most people here especially the young are well-educated, most of them can speak english and many can speak other languages ( French, German, Spanish and other languages! )

I really wanna talk about food, because it's my favourite subject :p but I don't wanna waste your time, so here is two foods that ae very popular here:

- Hummus: is a Levantine Arab dip or spread made from cooked, mashed chickpeas, blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and garlic; it's eatin with bread .... it's very delicious.

- Musakhan: It is composed of roasted chicken baked with onions, sumac, allspice, saffron, and fried pine nuts atop one or more taboon breads.

This was very very short summary of Jerusalem, and some highlights of the Palestinian culture, if you wanna know more, if you have anything to say, good or bad, please leave me a comment!

Btw, I think my next post will be about Brazil, a countryI really love and wanna b there!

Thank you, and have fun till then :)
